McNeese SHRM - October Student of the Month

Indya Malvo is our Student of the Month.

Indya is a senior at McNeese majoring in Management with a concentration in HR and Minor in Entrepreneurship.  She is currently serving as Student Relations Director of the McNeese SHRM student chapter for 2014—2015. Indya S. Malvo was born July 20, 1988. She is the second child out of six; having four sisters and one brother. Originally from Vinton, La  she has resided in Lake Charles for the past 10 years. Indya graduated from Washington-Marion Magnet high in 2006, before attending McNeese. She attended LSUE at Eunice for two years undecided about what to major in and just taking general classes. In 2009, she decided to join the Army National Guard, completing training in 2010 with a Military Occupation Specialty as an Automated Logistical Specialist (92A).  After returning back home expecting to return back to school, she was offered a job with her home station for a year doing Human Resource work while her unit was in Iraq. As soon as the year was up, she returned back to school Spring 2011 . Indya is a member of the student chapter of SHRM, a National Member. I am also an active member in the Professional Business Fraternity Delta Sigma Pi. Graduating this December, Indya is anxious to see what this journey called life has in store for her next.
