    As a show of our continued appreciation for the work local affiliates do to support SHRM Certification, we are offering SHRM Chapters and State Councils the opportunity to provide their constituents with complimentary SHRM Certification exam applications for the second testing window of 2021 (December 1, 2021 - February 15, 2022)!

    Offer Details As Follows:

    Chapter Offering – A limited number of complimentary exam seats are available for dual members of a local chapter (members of both SHRM national and the chapter).

      • Chapters are offered complimentary SHRM Certification applications on a first come, first serve basis, with a maximum limit of 5 applicants per chapter. The offer will close once the overall threshold is met.
    State Council Offering –  The complimentary offer is extended to state council volunteer leaders based on the below criteria:
      • Two complimentary SHRM Certification applications will be offered to state council volunteer leaders of MAP State Councils.
      • One complimentary SHRM Certification application will be offered to a state council volunteer leader of the remaining non-MAP State Councils.
    To aid in the selection process, we've included a number of suggestions on identifying who might be a good prospect for this opportunity. Ideas include the following:

    Chapter Prospects:
    • A dual member (of SHRM and the chapter) who has or is planning to participate in a local chapter certification study group.
    • A dual member chapter or state council conference attendee who visits the affiliate booth and expresses serious interest in becoming a SHRM Certification credential holder.
    • A dual member interested in testing who is selected through a drawing.
    • A dual member who currently holds the SHRM-CP credential and is interested in and eligible for earning their SHRM-SCP credential.
    State Council Prospects:
    • A state council volunteer leader who currently does not hold either credential but is seriously interested in earning the credential.
    • A state council volunteer leader who currently holds the SHRM-CP credential and is interested in and eligible for earning their SHRM-SCP credential.
    • A state council volunteer leader who aspires to take on State Certification Director duties but does not currently hold either credential.
    • A state council volunteer leader who was interested last year but missed out on the opportunity.
    How To Take Advantage Of The Offer

    The participating Chapter or State Council must submit the names and contact information for viable candidates using this form beginning June 1, 2021 through September 1, 2021.

    Viable candidates would include individuals who hold dual membership or are state council volunteer leaders as described above, who meet SHRM Certification eligibility criteria and who have a genuine interest in testing during the second testing window of 2021 (December 1, 2021 – February 15, 2022).

    Upon submission of the affiliate form, the selected dual member(s) or state council volunteer leader applicant(s) will receive detailed instructions directly from the SHRM Certification team on how to complete the complimentary application process.

    *Note: This offer is only available to dual members and state council volunteer leaders who are interested in testing during the second testing window of 2021 and do not currently have an application on file. This offer may not be applied to an existing application.

    COMPLIMENTARY EXAM OFFER FAQS
     
     

    1) The individual my Chapter/State Council identified is not ready to test in the 2021 Winter Exam Window but would like to take advantage of the complimentary offer. Can they still receive the complimentary application then transfer to the next exam window?

    • Answer: YES, but they must pay the $100 transfer fee to move to the Spring 2022 window. The Spring 2022 application window opens January 2022.

    2) The individual my Chapter/State Council identified has already applied to test in the 2022 Winter Exam Window and has already paid the fee. Can their application fee be reimbursed so that they can take advantage of the complimentary offer?

    • Answer: NO. The offer is only valid for those who have not already applied to take the SHRM Certification exam and may not be applied to an existing application.

    3) Will SHRM provide a complimentary or discounted fee for the Learning System materials?

    • Answer: NO. Learning System fees will not be discounted as part of this offer.

    4) The individual my Chapter/State Council identified failed the exam in a previous testing window and would like to retest. Can the complimentary offer be used for this purpose?

    • Answer: YES, the complimentary offer can be used for retesting if the individual has not already applied to do so.

    5) The individual my Chapter/State Council identified has their SHRM-CP and would like to take the SHRM-SCP, can the offer be used for this purpose?

    • Answer: YES, the complimentary offer can be used for taking the next level exam if the credential holder has not already applied to do so.
